I absolutely love to come up with great gift ideas that I can make for my favorite friends and family members year around. I delight in the looks on their faces, when they open their gifts and realize that in some way I made their gift just for them.

This Christmas, I wanted to make all of my BFFs something REALLY amazing, that they would be super stoked to receive as a gift and think of me every time they use it. With as many times as I have seen solid perfume pinned on Pinterest, I just knew that I couldn't go wrong with it as a gift, especially with  a cute container to put it in!

A locket to share my heart with

There is something magical, to a girl, about receiving a beautiful locket as a gift. Add a one of a kind sensual solid perfume and you will find yourself giving a unique gift that nearly any woman would love! You can make this solid perfume in nearly any container that you can find, anything from 1 oz. metal tins to even recycled bottle caps!

After making solid perfume lockets last Valentine's Day, in my Etsy shop, I realized just how loved they are! At the time, I didn't know where to get lockets for a decent price that weren't made in China. This year I decided to do some searching to find a really amazing Etsy shop, located here in the US and in turn came across the CUTEST lockets in the Etsy shop, Valley Girl Designs! She ships in record time and has so many beautiful options, it doesn't really matter who you are shopping for, there is likely something there! Not only that, you are supporting handmade small businesses!

    DIY Solid Perfume

To simplify this recipe, if you did not want to use more than one carrier oil, you could just simply use 1/4 cup oil to 1 Tbsp. beeswax. I like to combine oils to get just the right consistency, since some oils are really oily, while others are dry and will sink into the skin faster.

    INGREDIENTS

    • 3 Tbsp. grapeseed oil (you could substitute any carrier oil such as hemp seed oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil, or even more coconut oil if you wanted!)
    • 1 Tbsp. unrefined coconut oil (you could substitute any carrier oil here)
    • 1 Tbsp. beeswax pastilles
    • 60 drops essential oil - or use one of the essential oil blends below (for roughly a 4% dilution)

    DIRECTIONS

    1. In a double boiler, heat up and melt the beeswax along with the carrier oils, until melted.
    2. Once melted, remove from heat and add essential oils, stirring well until combined.
    3. Pour your mixture into the containers you have chosen for your solid perfume. If wanting to add this to something small and delicate such as a locket, I suggest using a dropper to fill the small area, for a much prettier and consistent, end result. I learned this the hard way. The first batch that I ever made, I poured sloppily with the pan and had very little control. With a dropper, gently fill the small area without making a mess or spilling all over the jewelry.

    Solid Perfume Essential Oil Blends

There are so many options, the blends that you can come up with are truly endless, but knowing how crazy the holidays get, I have come up with a few great blends just to make things easier for you! Get creative and substitute your favorite essential oils in the place of ones you might not have, you never know what you might come up with! Some of my best blends were just created from randomly mixing my favorites together!

    DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I really like this blend year around because it was originally created as my stress/anxiety blend but it just smells so good, I think it makes a great perfume too!

    • 35 drops grapefruit essential oil
    • 15 drops sweet orange essential oil
    • 15 drops lavender essential oil
    • 5 drops Roman chamomile essential oil
    • 10 drops clary sage essential oil

    EARTHEN FAERIE

This scent is so grounding and calming. I really love the blend of sweet and earthen;the sweet of the marjoram, ylang-ylang, and lavender, with the earthiness of the cedarwood.

    • 20 drops lavender essential oil
    • 30 drops marjoram essential oil
    • 10 drops Virginia cedarwood essential oil
    • 3 drops ylang ylang essential oil

    MUSE

This is my based off of my blend that I use for creativity boosting when my writing is in a rut! I also love to use this when I meditate as well! I have switched out the sandalwood I normally use for nutmeg essential oil. You can interchange them in the recipe if you like.

    • 10 drops cinnamon leaf essential oil
    • 10 drops clove bud essential oil
    • 5 drops vanilla oleoresin
    • 10 drops bergamot essential oil
    • 20 drops sweet orange essential oil
    • 5 drops Virginia cedarwood essential oil
    • 5 drops frankincense essential oil
    • 2 drops nutmeg essential oil

    AURORA'S BOREALIS

This is my romantic aphrodisiac blend. It's bright and fruity but feminine and heady. I can't get enough of this one, there's something very attractive about this blend!

    • 25 drops grapefruit essential oil
    • 25 drops tangerine essential oil
    • 10 drops rose absolute
    • 5 drops sandalwood essential oil
    • 3 drops ylang ylang essential oil

    TWILIGHT DANCER

Twilight Dancer is a very sensual feminine dance under the moonlight. It's a sweet and spicy, floral blend.

    • 40 drops lavender essential oil
    • 10 drops clove bud essential oil
    • 6 drops nutmeg essential oil
    • 8 drops vanilla oleoresin
    • 2 drops ylang ylang essential oil
