Essential Oil Storage - Keep & Carry Your Essential Oils with Essential Oil Bags - A BagsByLora Review & Giveaway

Print Friendly

We talk a lot, on this blog, about essential oils, but we rarely ever talk about storing essential oils safely! It can be difficult to get your essential oils from point A to point B without bottle clanking, breaking, or falling over. I used to stress over the thought of how I would carry my essential oils with me for events with my friends or even in the event of an emergency, should I have to leave and bugout. (Yes, I am totally a prepper!)

The essential oil bags that we are talking about today are made by Lora over at the Bags By Lora (You can also find her on Facebook ). I was generously given these essential oil bags to review and giveaway, but my opinions are my own! I will only share with you products that I myself love and use personally!

Essential oils should always be stored in dark glass bottles

Essential oils are volatile oils (they evaporate quickly) and should always be stored in dark glass bottles to keep the sunlight out. Sunlight, heat, and air  can degrade the essential oil much faster than it’s normal shelf life, and cause oxidation. Essential oils can easily break down plastic, so all undiluted essential oils should always be stored in glass bottles rather than plastic. If safely diluted within a recipe, PET plastic is safe for use with essential oils.

How do you transport your essential oils?

Every time I have to go to another friends house for Mudmask and Mimosa Fridays, I used to scurry about my home, looking for something to carry my essential oils in safely over to my friends house. It seemed like I was always trying to find some good way to carry them every where that I went. Sure, there are great storage boxes out there to hold essential oils, but what’s a girl supposed to do when she leaves the house? I was totally stoked when Lora from Bags By Lora on Etsy, contacted me for a review! She sent over a large and a small bag customized to my own fabric choices (can’t you tell by the sunny choices I made?), for me to try out and review. Without these awesome bags, I couldn’t have moved all my essential oils so easily!

Bags By Lora - Custom bags for all your needs

Lora started her business BagsByLora, in 2009 hoping to sell a few purses, and make a little extra income for her family. Since then her business has turned into a full time job making ans selling purses, diaper bags, clutch sets for bridesmaids and most recently essential oil bags. According to Lora “My favorite part of owning my own business is setting my own hours and allowing me to be a work at home mom while also providing a great second income to our family.” With 3 kids under 10, one of which is still in their terrific two’s, Lora has her work cut out for her with early mornings for work and plenty of orders to fill her extra time.

Choose your bag and design your look

Lora sells more than just bridesmaid clutches and purses. She first made these bags out of necessity. She had been storing her oils in a kitchen cabinet but was always worried about them falling out and breaking. Now all her oils are organized! With all of her bags, you can choose your fabrics to create a custom bag just for your oils!

  • SMALL Essential Oil Bag - There are 8 padded pockets, 4 on each side of the bag. This bag holds a mixture of 5-15 ml bottles. Closes with a quality zipper and made with your choice of designer fabric!
  • MEDIUM Essential Oil Bag - There are 16 padded pockets, 10 on the sides of the bag and 6 in the removable pockets. The bag holds 5 -15 ml bottles. You will also have room to store oils in the spaces between that pockets. Closes with a quality zipper and made with your choice of designer fabric!
  • LARGE Essential Oil Bag - There are 24 padded pockets, 12 on the sides of the bag and 12 in the removable pockets. You can also put oil bottles between the pockets to hold a few more. The bag hold 5-15ml bottles. Closes with a quality zipper and made with your choice of designer fabric!

While moving these bags were EXACTLY what I needed

These bags couldn’t have come at a better time for me. With move number 1 of 2 coming up (when I received them), I was fretting over how I was going to move and store my essential oils while staying at my parents house for two months. I used both of my matching bags to fill with essential oils as well as all of my roll-0ns and other aromatherapy accessories. These bags were totally god-sends during our move! They kept all of my oils safe from breaking, and they are all organized so I am still able to find everything I need while living out of a suitcase at the moment! Very well made and sewn with care and skill, these bags have become my favorite essential oil accessory after my diffuser.

The perfect size to fit in your diaper bag, purse, or bugout bag

My favorite bag of the two bags, large and small, is the small essential oil bag. Compact and light, this bag was exactly what I was looking for to add to my purse, our car, or our bugout bag, in the event of an emergency. I was able to add my favorite most essential  of the oils, as well as some requisite roll-ons, and even some salves! I made sure to put in my Antiseptic Owie cream as well as my Cool Vibes Vapor Rub Jr., and even fit a few bandaids in there! The perfect small size, I always throw it into our backpacking backpack for every hike we go on, just in case I need to pull out whatever I need in a flash.

Two lucky winners & two adorable bags

I have teamed up with Lora to give away to two lucky winners, 1 SMALL essential oil bag to use in your own purse or bugout bag! This giveaway is open to residents of US & Canada, 18  years of age or older! Good luck!!!
