I love hummus because it makes for an AMAZING Mayo substitute on your burgers and sandwiches, but most of all it's very healthy for you. Chickpeas (also known as garbanzo beans) are high in zinc, folate, and protein. They are also an excellent source
A simple and easy dip
Hummus sounds like a complicated dish to make, but it's one of the easiest dips to throw together! Just serve with a bowl of pita chips and sliced veggies, or as a condiment to your black bean burgers, and enjoy! I can sit down on the couch with a bowl of hummus and some thin restaurant style corn chips, and finish the whole bowl off.
ANTHIS FAMILY HUMMUS
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 (19 ounce) can garbanzo beans
- 4 Tbsp. lemon juice (roughly 2 lemons)
- 2 Tbsp. tahini
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1 red bell pepper (If you have the time you can roast it in the oven first, but I am usually in a hurry and it works in the recipe just fine raw.)
